Pence Springs Flea Market [Pence Springs WV]
Our popcorn story
This heirloom popcorn has been the center for many a popcorn party. Grandpa Sherman, Farmers Rhonda's dad never let us miss our weekly popcorn party. He loved to make it and we loved to eat it. Thin hull disintegrates when popped. Healthy, Affordable, High in Fiber-Snack for the whole family and the pets.
Farmer Rhonda's family popcorn goes way back with grandparents growing this white light, nutritious, hulless heirloom popcorn.
Aunt Dorothy, who is still living at 88, remembers back to the age of 4 when it was the job of the siblings including my father to pick, shell and put the popcorn in glass jars in the pantry. As the grandparents aged, Aunt Dorothy took over raising popcorn for the family and along with her and Farmer Rhonda's brother this amazing healthy low fat snack is still poppin.
Spring of 2015 it placed in the Popcorn Pop Off at the Winter Blues Farmer's Market event in Charleston. I am proud to continue this family tradition and know you will enjoy it as much as we do. Enjoy Every Bite...

Popcorn Fun Facts!
During an optimal growing season, on average each stalk of popcorn will produce two ears of corn.
Nutritionally, it is one of the best all-around snack foods, providing 67% as much protein, 110% as much iron and as much calcium as an equal amount of beef. An average 1.5-ounce serving of popcorn supplies the same energy as two eggs. In addition, hull is excellent roughage, comparing favorably with bran flakes or whole wheat toast.
